When you have decided that a Beagle is the right breed of dog for you, you may decide that the best place to find this new friend and companion is at a Beagle rescue. Making this choice is a very humane and practical one, since you're giving a dog a second chance at a loving family and that awaited "forever home".

Beagles are fascinating, energetic, loyal dogs and far too many of them end up in circumstances where they can't stay with their first family anymore. There are many reasons that a beagle may not be able to remain in a family. These can include:

  • Families that purchased the beagle as a puppy, but weren't prepared for a dog when that little puppy grew up
  • Families that experience a change in circumstance - perhaps a financial change or a move to a place that does not allow pets
  • The death of the owner of the beagle
  • Run away beagles that are never claimed at the animal shelter and are then transferred to a Beagle rescue in order to avoid having to euthanize them.

These are typically great pets that are ready to move right in to their new home and become a member of the family. This makes a beagle rescue a great first choice when you've made the decision to adopt that particular breed. Furthermore, your adoption fees will go to a very good cause, and you'll feel great for doing it because you'll know that a deserving animal has been given the second chance that her or she may not otherwise have had.

You can find a local Beagle rescue very quickly and easily by using the internet. Simply perform a query at your favorite search engine and you'll be provided with a list of organizations within your area that have dogs that are ready to be adopted.

You can also find local Beagle rescue groups by calling the various animal shelters in your area and inquiring. They often have the contact information for rescues because they will often send their dogs there when they are unclaimed and are not adopted within a certain length of time.

Getting a dog is such a wonderful choice for many people and families. Why not make the experience even more meaningful by finding a dog at a Beagle rescue?
