Havanese Training Response to A Poo-Eating Dog

Stool and poo is something that for humans deserve prompt and speedy containment. But not so for some dogs and most puppies. In fact, some of these are into stool eating, and moreover, it is quite normal for them and it is more than acceptable! In fact, it seems quite a lot of Havanese are into this condition. But thankfully not all.

Many Hav puppies try out eating stools—also known as coprophagia—when they are young, still learning more about the environment around them, and trying out all sorts of stuff. Again, this is common to many Havs, and many puppies actually overcome in time this potentially embarrassing stage quite soon.

Frequent reasons behind stool eating is deficiency, dietary imbalance, allergy or food intolerance. Havanese are not exactly prone to food allergies, but food intolerance seem to be more common. It would take time debating what happens to make the stool turn out that way: sensitive digestive systems, mannerisms that result to plenty of swallowed food too much to digest or process, a combination of all these issues... the list could go on. What seems to be clear is that it is not a matter of lack of Havanese Training.

Due to lack of proper scrutiny of what the dog eats, it is possible for a Hav to get incomplete nutrition, although it looks as if it is eating well. Improperly digested or absorbed food results to stool that resembles more temptation, than rubbish, to the dog.

One step to resolving coprophagia, aside from a prompt vet check, is to get rid of the most bothersome problem ingredients from the dog food, such as overprocessed wheat, soy and corn. Significant improvement can be made when the diet is improved using high quality digestible food, with decreases in the use of rich extras. Adding to the food a digestive enzyme also help very much your dog to process its food better. Success have been noted with adding spinach, zucchini, apple cider vinegar, pineapple, or green beans to the diet.

The next time it goes out to eliminate, bring the Hav puppy out on a leash. After eliminating, call the puppy promptly and do not give it the chance to sniff the droppings. Naturally, it helps a lot to keep the yard as clean as possible so stool eating does not develop there at home. Its possible to get lazy now and then. But even without Havanese Training knowledge, its easy to know that the longer stool eating sticks around, the longer it will take time to break!
