Learn how to make Boxer dogs happy, healthy and obedient. - Learn Why I Love Boxer Dogs
To get the most out of your Boxer dog house training, there are three main steps you'll likely want to remember...
Since you're dealing with a playful, energetic, and intelligent breed, Boxer dog training can be a challenging experience. Your dog is a very loyal and friendly one, but Boxer dog training requires your dedication and attention, as well as the ability to be more stubborn than your pet when it comes to working for results. This is because the Boxer's intelligence also leads it to have its own determination against being trained too easily.
Boxer dog training can include a number of different kinds of training, such as: puppy training, obedience training, guard dog training, and agility trial training. No matter what kind of Boxer dog training you'll be doing, it's important not to make any assumption regarding the challenges you will face and the successes you will see until you get started with your own dog and see how it goes.
Many people assume that because Boxers look tough, that's the way they actually are. However, in reality, nothing could be further from the truth. Boxers are extremely friendly and playful. However, that being said, without proper training, over time, Boxers can become aggressive simply because they don't know the right and wrong of their size and strength.
Indeed, Boxer dogs are quite stubborn due to their high intelligence. However, their intelligence can also be a blessing. When Boxer dog training, every ounce of intelligence can be very helpful for getting your dog to understand exactly what you're asking of him or her with the hand signals and commands. Even if your dog is being stubborn, at least it won't take you very long to get him or her to learn the lessons...even when he or she doesn't bother to do so.
Your main tool for Boxer dog training is therefore not a leash, a clicker, or a great training class. Yes, those things help, but none of them will get you anywhere if you aren't ready to be extremely patient. Coupled with a dedication to consistency and your own brand of stubbornness, you'll be ready to take on Boxer dog training that will be much more likely to be successful.

Good Hub and oh so true. We had a boxer when our kids were growing up. We miss him alot. They are one of the best breeds for families. Not only are they loyal, they are also very protective (and gentle). They have the best personalities. Ours actually thought he was one of the kids.
Well, I guess he was. Thanks for the information.
Boxer dogs are awesome with kids and yes very protective however like some people some of them can turn aggressive for no apparent reason. Even when they have been trained well and have spent years with a family. Ours unfortunately had to be put down after 5 years with use as she slowly became more aggressive with the kids and us. After numerous visits with vets and experts it was decided that she should regrettably be put down. RIP Keely.

Hi, the boxer is a great breed, I've had one 5 years ago and was extremely gentle with people, especially children, loved do play, and a bit sttuborn too :). Good advice on dedication and consistency, that applies to almost every breed, especially medium-big breeds.
I just got a one year old-ish boxer who was rescued. The first couple of days she was on her best behavior, and then we got her spayed. For the past two days she's getting super comfortable, and is a stubborn little terror! She also constantly needs attention. I love her-so cute and smart! She has also been super easy to potty train!!
This is the dumbest article I have ever read. Seriously.

I have 2 boxer dogs and I think that they are the best type of bred of dog you can get. Great with kids with fantastic personality. They can be a handful as a puppy and need a home where they can be stimulated and have regular walks. Keep up the good work!
