You may adore the beagle you've seen next door or walking down the street, but it doesn't necessarily mean that it's the right breed for you. To know if it is indeed right for you, you need to know all of the important beagle information and facts.
It's hard to tell when just looking at a beagle puppy to know if that's the right kind of breed, simply because they're so unbelievably cute that they surpass logic and can sell themselves to you better than the most effective marketing company. But inside that tiny, precious package is a full breed's worth of habits, instincts, and mischief.
There is a great deal of beagle information and facts that you will want to use to prepare yourself for that surprising little pooch. For one thing, you need to understand that you are taking on a hound. These are tracking dogs that were historically used to help locate game for hunters. Their noses were vital to the success of many hunting parties throughout Europe and then North America. They are also talented diggers, as they had to be willing to work a chased animal out of a burrow or hole.
The reason these beagle information and facts are important to you as a potential owner is that you need to know that these dogs are very determined when they pick up a scent. When you walk a beagle, the nose will be to the ground the majority of the time, and they may be inclined to follow their own path instead of going where you want to go. This also means that you will need to be very careful when you walk this kind of a dog off the leash as it can be easy to lose control if they decide to take up a chase. Once they're tracking, that scent is the only thing on their minds.
Furthermore, if you leave your beagle in the yard without supervising, you'll likely discover that it doesn't take him or her long to dig under the fence, or simply dig up all of the grass or garden that the paws can reach. They have a practically insatiable curiosity and will dig until they make it right through the globe to the other side unless you catch them in time.
Since the dogs were also bred to make noise once they picked up a scent, to let the hunters know that something has been found. Therefore, the beagle in your home will be likely to bark and howl about everything that he or she notices. Whether it's the neighbor walking down the street or the shadow on the floor.
But the best beagle information and facts are that beagles are fun, loving, loyal, and eager to please. If they're the right match for you, they can be exceptionally pleasant companions in your life.

beagles most of the time are aggressive near food
the beagle has a big had on that picture
I have had a beagle for four years and she is the best dog i have ever had. She has more personality than most of the people I know. She is very friendly and loves kids. Her nose is so powerful. She can smell something outside while being in the house. She picks on my cat a tad too much, until the cat has had enough, then she flees. She is not a chow hound like the previous beagle I had. She eats a little, comes back later, eats a little more, and around evening she will finish it off. She is so comical. She loves to play. I treat her well and am rewarded by her loyalness. She loves to go hunting, yet hasnt mastered the noise of the gunshot. A true joy, I recommend a beagle for any type of family.

I used to know a Beagle that was very aggressive when near food. I am sure it was not the dog's fault, just a very bad owner!
